HUBBARD

Police are investigating an attempted bank robbery that occurred Thursday afternoon at PNC Bank at 70 W. Liberty St. A 6'4'' white male in his late 20s wearing black mesh shorts, a grey pullover hoodie and a baseball hat that appeared to say "Browns" walked into the bank at around 2:20 p.m. and handed a note to the teller. The suspect did not speak, but the note read, "Give me all your 100's and 50's," according to a police report. The suspect had his left hand in his pocket and a black batting glove with white trim on his right hand, Detective David Oaks said. After the teller opened up her drawer to show that she had no money, police report that the suspect took the note back from the teller, left without taking any money and fled the scene East toward Orchard Avenue in a black SUV that was likely a Chevrolet Traverse. If you have any information, call Detective David Oaks at the Hubbard City Police Department at (330) 534-8153 ext. 3006.
