An Ohio man is facing the possibility of the death penalty after a jury found him guilty of killing four people in a townhouse in 2013.
The jury in Summit County on Friday night convicted 23-year-old Deshanon Haywood of four counts of aggravated murder. A penalty phase during which the jury will recommend the death penalty or life in prison starts June 29.
The bodies were found shot in the head in the Akron townhouse in April 2013.
Haywood and 23-year-old Derrick Brantley were convicted of the drug-related slayings. Haywood’s convictions were vacated last fall after concerns about possible misconduct by prosecutors and false testimony.
Haywood claimed he didn’t shoot anybody.
Brantley was convicted of all four slayings and is serving life in prison with no parole.
