Man goes to hospital after shooting in city

YOUNGSTOWN — Police are at ValleyCare Northside Medical Center after someone was taken there this afternoon with a gunshot wound.

A spokesman confirmed police were called to the hospital about 3:20 p.m., today.

Officers were called earlier to the South Side intersection of East Judson Avenue and Rush Boulevard about 2:30 p.m. after a report of gunfire and that someone was wounded.

Police found no victim there, but they did collect three shell casings.

The spokesman did not know if the person being treated for the gunshot wound is in any way connected to the gunfire call on the South Side.
