The Mahoning Valley Railroad Heritage Association will host an open house and 30th birthday party from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at 1340 Poland Ave.
The purpose of the MVRHA is to preserve equipment and materials from the railroads that served the steel industry in the Mahoning Valley. Visitors will be able to tour two Pennsylvania & Lake Erie cabooses as well as view a steam engine, a Pollock steel ladle car, a 60-ton GE locomotive, a Plymouth EL yard switcher, a mold transport car, a box car and more.
Members will be on hand to answer questions. Snacks and drinks will be available. A $1 per person donation is requested. All are welcome.
