Personnel committee meeting scheduled

The Mahoning County District Board of Health’s personnel committee is scheduled to meet at 4 p.m. Monday at the board’s offices at 50 Westchester Drive. The tentative agenda is an executive session to discuss workforce development.

A Youngstown man faces an impaired-driving charge after he reportedly was pulled over by township police after nearly striking a police cruiser.

Lanny Tackett, 20, of Pine Hollow Drive, is charged with reckless operation, operating a vehicle while impaired, having a prohibited blood-alcohol content and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle after he was arrested north of Midlothian Boulevard early Wednesday.

A police officer said Tackett nearly hit his cruiser on Youngstown-Poland Road near Country Club Lane.

Tackett reportedly failed a field-sobriety test and had a BAC of .195. The legal intoxication limit in Ohio is .08.

YMHA meeting today

The Youngstown Metropolitan Housing Authority will meet at noon today in the board room at Amedia Plaza, 131 W. Boardman St.

Unveiling of markers

YOUNGSTOWN

Four markers providing historical and architectural information about the city’s Central Square and its cornerstone buildings will be unveiled at 4 p.m. June 26 on the square. The ribbon-cutting event is being sponsored by Youngstown CityScape and the Mahoning Valley Historical Society and is open to the public.
