Judge sets bond for Paul Brown in his murder case

YOUNGSTOWN — A judge today set bond at $500,000 for Paul Brown, whose murder case was derailed Wednesday by a mistrial.

Judge Maureen Sweeney of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court also said a new trial date of July 20 will not be continued.

Brown, 37, is accused of killing Ashten Jackson sometime around May 24, 2009.

This is the second mistrial in the case and the third issue overall involving evidence in the case that has delayed the proceedings.
