URGENT: Warren FD warning people to stay inside as heavy rains bring flooding


WARREN — The city fire department is asking residents to stay inside due to flooding of streets caused by heavy rains tonight.

Fire officials said cars were abandoned on Pine Street Southeast, Parkman Road Northwest and Southwest.

There were also reports of a couple of transformers on fire, and power was reported out at the Plaza View Apartments behind the Elm Road Plaza. Numeous home basements are flooded.

The Niles Police Department reported heavy waters may have forced residents to leave the Buckeye Trailer Park across from the Eastwood Mall. One report said the Red Cross was headed to that area to assist.

In Mahoning County, heavy rains flooded portions of Mahoning Avenue in Austintown and Youngstown.
