DOCTORATES

Three earn degrees

Kevin M. Brown, the son of Ernest A. Jr. and Cherrie Ellis Brown of Boardman, recently graduated with his doctor of physical therapy degree from Florida A&M University, Tallahassee, Fla.

Brown, a 2007 graduate of Boardman High School, earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise science in 2011 from the University of Toledo.

Brown is the grandson of the late Ernest A. Sr. and Marjorie Thornton Brown of Youngstown and Campbell, and Rufus and Alagre Donald Ellis of Georgia.

Madisyn A. Vaclav of Cincinnati, formerly of Canfield, graduated from Mount Saint Joseph University with a doctor of physical therapy degree.

She is a 2008 graduate of Canfield High School and completed her undergraduate studies in health sciences at the University of Cincinnati in 2012. She is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association as well as the Ohio Physical Therapy Association.

Vaclav is employed at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati. Her parents are Doug and Cheryl Vaclav.

Allison Lorraine Pavlov, formerly of Canfield, graduated from Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh with a doctorate in nursing practice, specializing in family psychiatry. She also received the Outstanding Nurse Practitioner Student Award from the Nurse Practitioners’ Association of Southwestern Pennsylvania.

Pavlov, a 2003 graduate of Canfield High School, received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Pittsburgh in 2008.

She is the daughter of Karen Pavlov of Canfield and Joseph and Maya Pavlov of Dallas. She lives in Pittsburgh with her husband, Todd Pungratz.

DOCTORS

Medical degrees

David W. Drevna, son of David and Nellie Drevna of Boardman, received his doctor of medicine degree from Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown. He will specialize in urology and will begin his residency in July at Akron General Medical Center.

Dr. Drevna graduated summa cum laude from Youngstown State University in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in science. He is a 2007 graduate of Western Reserve High School, where he was valedictorian.

He will live in Copley, Ohio, with his wife, Felicia, and daughter Camilla.

Daniel S. Socha received his doctor of medicine degree May 16 from Northeast Ohio Medical University. He will pursue his residency in pathology at the Cleveland Clinic.

At NEOMED, he was awarded the Excellence in Microbiology/ Immunology/ Infectious Disease Award for 2015, and is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor medical society.

Dr. Socha is a 2009 graduate of Canfield High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in science from Youngstown State University in 2011. YSU awarded him an Outstanding Alumni Award in 2015.

His brother, Kevin Socha, also graduated May 16, with a bachelor’s degree in engineering from YSU. He is a 2010 graduate of Canfield High School.

They are the sons of Stan and Donna Socha of Canfield. Grandparents are Susan Moody of Boardman, Russell Pittman of Youngstown and Maria Wisniewski of Hubbard.

Joseph Miladore of Canfield earned his doctor of medicine degree from NEOMED. He graduated as valedictorian in 2009 from Canfield High School and received a bachelor’s degree in combined sciences, summa cum laude, from Youngstown State University in 2011. He will begin his residency in general surgery at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital in Youngstown on July 1.

His brother, Dr. Michael P. Miladore, recently completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Buffalo within the department of orthopedic surgery. In his final year, he served as chief resident.

He will begin a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery Aug. 1 at the University of Buffalo.

Michael Miladore graduated summa cum laude from YSU with a degree in combined sciences in 2006 and earned his medical degree from NEOMED in 2010. He lives in Williamsville, N.Y., with his wife, Cherri Lynn.

The Miladores are the sons of Drs. Michael and Dianne Miladore of Canfield.
