Campbell teacher resigns, investigation underway

Tuesday, January 27, 2015

CAMPBELL — The Campbell School Board approved the resignation of a teacher at a meeting tonight.

Effective immediately, Shannon Pavlansky-Wojtowicz has resigned, a news release says. She was assigned to Memorial High School and began her employment with the district in 2009. She was placed on unpaid leave Monday, pending an investigation.

“As a public employer, Campbell City Schools must follow the appropriate procedures in the investigation of allegations of misconduct by a staff member,” Superintendent Matthew Bowen said. “We do not rush to judgment or cater to rumors. Instead we take the time necessary to determine the facts and make decisions based on the information before us. We are fully cooperating with local authorities and will assist in the investigation if called upon.”

The release said that on the advice of the school board’s legal counsel, no further public comment would be made.
