Students at North Elementary School celebrated Valentine’s Day Feb. 11 with a sweet ice cream sundae treat.

The toppings, which included whipped cream, sprinkles, chocolate syrup and more, were donated by parent volunteers. The ice cream was purchased at a discount from the New Middletown Dairy Queen. There were also volunteers on hand to help students create the perfect sundae concoction for each student.

The event was headed by Room Parent Chair Stephanie Twyford. This was Twyford’s first time being in charge of this event. She said that the ice cream event was very successful due to the great involvement of parent volunteers.

“We are very lucky to have a lot of parent volunteers who give their time and are more than happy to bring in anything we ask for them to donate,” she said. “Each volunteer was designated to bring something, such as the sprinkles and whipped cream.”

Twyford said that she had a lot of fun heading her first sundae event.
