Fitch boys, girls bowling teams advance to district tourney

The boys and girls bowling teams from Austintown Fitch will compete in the district tournament on Sunday at noon at Rebman’s Recreation Center in Lorain.

Three boys teams and three girls teams qualified for the district tournament. The Warren Harding boys won the sectional tournament with 4,030. Team members include Tavish Burd, Alec Adair, Jason Nolen, Tyler Longwell, Joseph Homa, Jeff Shuster and Tommy Seese.

Fitch was second with 3,869. Falcons bowlers include Adam Willoughby, Alec Smith, Kyle Scott, Ean Eliot, Jarrod Kaminski, Dakota Gorgie, David Grim and Jordan Achten.

Boardman was third with 3,844. The Spartans’ team includes Nick Tancabel, Jake Wagner, Kevin Hymes, Brian Stanchin, Jason Babnic, Nick Christmas, Sean Sullivan and Richard Santucci.

The three individuals also advancing are Michael Merwin from Niles (628), Andrew Letscher from Canfield (627) and Thomas Gallager from Stow-Munroe Falls (593).

The Fitch girls team won the sectional with 3,344. The Falcons team includes Jessica Halas, Cassidy Lindberg, Brianna Protain, Alysha Harris, Megan Matsay, Alexis Hunter, Capri Corbin and Madison Glavnic.

Boardman was second with 3,342. The Spartans’ Alexis Grim won the tournament with 595. Halas was two pins behind her.

The other members of the Spartans team are Gloria Hynes, Myranda Bukovinsky, Alexandra Chsimar, Breanna Kereluik and Taylor Krepps.

Howland finished third with 3,315. The Tigers’ bowlers are Jessica Guesman, Jordyn Pregibon, Jamie Martinek, Morgan Reed and Cassandra Murcko.

Three individuals qualified: Ravenna’s Angelina Welling (548), Warren Harding’s Emily Oswald (503) and Rachel Huber (502).
