Former Campbell teacher faces felony sex charge

CAMPBELL — Officials confirmed that a former Campbell Memorial High School teacher is facing allegations that she had sex with a minor student.

Shannon Pavlansky-Wojtowicz, 30, of Campbell faces a third-degree felony charge of sexual battery.

“We are alleging that there was physicality between her and the student,” said Brian J. Macala, city law director.

The alleged sexual misconduct occurred between Dec. 14, 2014, and Jan. 16, according to a warrant filed by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations.

Furthermore, Campbell schools Superintendent Matthew Bowen filed a complaint with the Campbell Police Department on Jan. 16.

The complaint states that Pavlansky-Wojtowicz during the initial investigation “admitted that she has engaged in receiving and sending text communications with a minor student that may have a sense of impropriety.”

A teacher sending inappropriate messages to a student would fall under a different charge, Macala said.
