Partiers can don their most garish garments this Friday for the Ugly Sweater Pub Crawl, which will take place at eight Mahoning Avenue bars.

“While they might not be the most attractive, the ugly sweaters are usually the warmest and most comfortable,” said Christian Rinehart, crawl instigator and owner of O’Donold’s Irish Pub. Wearing an ugly sweater isn’t mandatory, but it will definitely add to the festivity of the bar crawl, he said.

Registration is from 6 to 9 p.m. at O’Donold’s Irish Pub in Austintown Plaza. Registration is $10 or $5 with the donation of a stuffed teddy bear (or stuffed animal), which Beatitude House will give as presents to needy children. Participants, who must be 21 years old, will receive a wristband that will give them access to a shuttle bus that will loop to all pub crawl locations, food and drink specials, and entrance to the after party at O’Donold’s, with the band 80’s Proof. DD4Hire drivers also will be available throughout the evening.

Participating pubs are O’Donold’s and Buffalo Wild Wings, YOLO, Mojo’s Pub, the Pink Elephant, Bill’s Place, VooDoo Lounge and Paladin Brewing.

A gift-card raffle created by all the participating venues will be available at registration and drawn at 9 p.m. at O’Donold’s. The raffle and pub crawl will benefit Beatitude House and Legacy Dog Rescue.
