City police are investigating the death of a decomposed male body found Saturday night in a wooded area behind homes in the 100 block of East Philadelphia Avenue as a homicide.
Police found the body in the South Side neighborhood after receiving complaints from residents of a strong odor. The victim has not yet been identified.
If the death is ruled a homicide, it would be the city’s 15th of 2015 and the tenth on the city’s South Side.
