Today’s entertainment picks:

v Steel Horse Country Music Festival, noon to 10 p.m.: Southern rockers Molly Hatchett headline with a 7 p.m. show. It’s at Biketown Harley- Davidson in Austintown; ballyhoomusicfestival.com.

v Brier Hill Italian Fest, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.: Dom Tocco and the Brotherhood will bring the festival to a close in a performance that will begin at 9:30 p.m. It’s at the corner of Calvin and Victoria Streets in the Brier Hill neighborhod in Youngstown.

v Shaker Woods Festival, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Hand-crafted items, sold in a wooded “village” by craftsmen in period dress ($8). The grounds are on state Route 7, a mile north of state Route 14, near Columbiana; shakerwoods.com.

v Hot Air Balloon Festival, 1 to 8:30 p.m.: The colorful balloons will drop in for this annual event ($5) at Mastropietro Winery, Ellsworth Road, Berlin Lake. v Cliff Barnes Trio, 3 to 7 p.m.: Live jazz in the park at B&O Station, 530 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown.

“Fear the Walking Dead” (9 p.m., AMC): This “companion” series to prime time’s monster hit tells the story of the zombie apocalypse from an entirely different angle. Set in Los Angeles at the brink of the scourge, it follows a dysfunctional blended family, led by a high school guidance counselor (Kim Dickens) and the man she’s dating (Cliff Curtis). Episode 1 is a bit plodding, but have no fear, more scares are dead ahead.

“Katrina: 10 YEARS AFTER THE STORM WITH ROBIN ROBERTS” (10 P.M., ABC): This news special revisits the Mississippi Gulf Coast to examine the lasting effects of the hurricane that rocked a nation. The program profiles those who have suffered and honors those still working to rebuild New Orleans.

“Ballers” (10 p.m., HBO): It just doesn’t seem right that, as the NFL gets set to return, the first season of “Ballers” is coming to an end. In the finale, Spencer (Dwayne Johnson) faces a tough decision when Joe (Rob Corddry) has an idea for a new venture.

“The Brink” (10:30 P.M., HBO): Season 1 concludes.

Trees Under Threat outdoor exhibit

YOUNGSTOWN

Mill Creek MetroParks Fellows Riverside Gardens is presenting “Vanishing Acts: Trees Under Threat,” an outdoor exhibit, now on display through Oct. 31.

The exhibit examines the precarious situation of the world’s trees and what that could mean to the everyday life of residents, according to a news release.

The self-guided exhibit begins at the D.D. and Velma Davis Education & Visitor Center and continues through the Gardens.

Visitors can check out backpacks with activities related to the exhibit at the information desk. Admission is free.
