A Nvortheast Ohio sheriff says two people run over by a bulldozer appear to have died accidentally.

Ashtabula County Sheriff Bill Johnson on Tuesday identified the victims as 44-year-old Kevin Moore and 39-year-old Barbara Hammer. They were killed Monday evening in Plymouth Township, about 60 miles east of Cleveland.

Johnson says the accident remains under investigation, but it appears the machine slipped into gear and ran over the pair, who worked together at a landfill company. The sheriff says Moore had recently bought the 1968 International TD15B bulldozer for his personal use.

Johnson says no one saw the accident. Someone called 911 after the bulldozer plowed into a parked car and pushed it across a road and into a ditch. The bulldozer was found with the engine running.
