AUSTINTOWN
Members of Mahoning County Rotary clubs in Austintown, Boardman, Canfield, Poland, Struthers and Youngstown will meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Trax Restaurant, 4250 New Road, to kick-off their Operation Warm 2015 project, a national program that provides new winter coats to children.
Local organizations which will benefit from the program are Salvation Army, Operation Blessing, Robinwood Elementary School, Harding Elementary, Boys & Girls Club, Struthers Elementary and Poland Interfaith Food Pantry.
The clubs hope to raise $60,000 this year from joint ventures at the Canfield Fair and Boardman Oktoberfest. A gift is being provided by Richard and Susan Sokolov of Boardman to start the fund.
Youngstown Rotary has donated a $100 Visa gift card as a door prize at the joint meeting. The 2015 Rotary theme is Be A Gift to the World.
