Struthers School Foundation sponsors fundraiser

STRUTHERS

The Struthers School Foundation for Educational Excellence will sponsor a “Luau for Learning” at Knoll Run Golf Course, 1421 Struthers Coitsville Road, in Lowellville, at 5 p.m. May 21.

All proceeds from the ticket sales, silent auction, and a 50/50 drawing will go to supplemental materials for students of the Struthers School District.

“Last year we raised over $5,700 at our Luau for Learning, which was awarded this past October to worthy grant applicants,” Danny Thomas Jr., foundation president, said. “It was so successful we decided to do it again this year and hopefully raise even more money.”

The “Luau for Learning” is open to the public and tickets are $25 and can be purchased at the board of education office, 99 Euclid Ave., or Becker Monuments, 123 Poland Ave., during regular business hours.

To donate a prize for the silent auction contact Joanne Kalbasky by calling 330-755-6027 or by email at jck3004@aol.com.

The Struthers School Foundation was established in 2000 to provide funds for extended educational activities not provided by the school district and has awarded more than $70,000 in grants since 2003. This past year it awarded more than $11,500 in grants to projects.
