Stacy A. Marling promoted to Mahoning chief deputy auditor

YOUNGSTOWN

Stacy A. Marling has been promoted from director of accounting to chief deputy auditor in the Mahoning County Auditor’s Office, County Auditor Ralph T. Meacham announced this afternoon.

Marling joined the county as an office of management and budget analyst in the county commissioners’ office in 2004 and transferred to the auditor’s office in 2007.

Marling, who was chosen from among 14 applicants to be chief deputy auditor, has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Youngstown State University.

The chief deputy position had been vacant since Meacham fired Carol McFall on March 4 on his second day as auditor after she redacted bonus information from a personnel action request form supplied in response to a Vindicator public records request.

McFall, whose final annual salary here was $92,500, has since been hired as Clinton County, Ohio, chief deputy auditor at $75,000 a year.

Meacham and McFall are certified public accountants; Marling is not.
