June 8-10 hearing to determine if Larosa is tried as adult

WARREN — Jacob Larosa, charged with killing his elderly neighbor, waived his probable cause hearing today in Trumbull County Juvenile Court, meaning no witnesses testified, and he moves on to a hearing to determine whether his case will be bound over to the adult court.

Judge Sandra Stabile Harwood spent considerable time asking Larosa, 15, of Niles, if he understood his rights, and Larosa said he did.

The judge then set the hearing on transferring the case to adult court for June 8, 9 and 10 and announced that that hearing will be closed to the public "because of the confidentiality of the nature of the reports that will be testified to."

The hearing will take place in the Trumbull County Juvenile Court.

Larosa is charged with killiing Marie Belcastro, 94, of Cherry Street in Niles March 31.
