TODAY

Boar’s Head Group of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will serve a chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. The meal includes mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, salad, bread and butter, pie and a beverage. The cost is $7.50. No reservations are necessary. THURSDAY

Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman Poland Road, will serve homemade dinners to go on May 7. Starting at 3:30 until the drive-through runs out, baked stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and green beans will sell for $6. Drive to the front of the church and someone will hand you a dinner to go. There’s no need to pre-order or get out of the car.

FRIDAY

Canfield Lions Club will have a fish fry from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield. Meals include a choice of baked or fried fish; french fries, macaroni and cheese, pirogi or haluski; and coleslaw, green beans, roll, dessert and beverage. The cost is $11 and is takeout only.

Christ the Good Shepherd at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi. Cost is $6 a dozen. Phone orders may be made beginning at 8 a.m. at 330-755-1316. Phone lines were down but are working now. Orders can be picked up beginning at noon. A limited supply of frozen pirogi will be available. The last day for sales is May 29.

Holy Trinity Church, 250 N. Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi while supplies last. Orders may be picked up from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Containers will be provided.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., will take orders for freshly made each week potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $6 per dozen. No containers are necessary. Orders should be placed from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at 330-746-9528 and are to be picked up between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday. Hot lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, will sell potato and cheese pirogi. To order call 330-799-0084 from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Cost is $6 per dozen (no containers necessary). Walk-ins welcome. Use the side entrance.

St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St., New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi for $5.50 a dozen. Orders can be called to 330-542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Walk-ins are welcome.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, sells potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi on Fridays. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $6 per dozen. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-in orders are welcome.

Tod Avenue United Methodist Church, 155 Tod Ave. NW, Warren, will host its last fish fry until fall from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children and youth and free for kids under 4. The meal consists of fried ocean perch, baked potato, coleslaw, rolls, butter, homemade desserts and beverage. Meatloaf also is available.

SATURDAY

VFW Post 6488, 2065 Coitsville-Hubbard Road, will host a steak fry from 2 to 8 p.m. The menu comprises steak, parsley buttered potatoes, green beans and salad for $10. Carryout will be available. For information call 330-746-8259.

SUNDAY

Girard Eagles Auxiliary 2172 will host a pasta dinner from 1 to 4 p.m. in the back hall at 26 W. Wilson Ave., Girard. Dinners comprise pasta with two meatballs, salad, bread and butter, cupcake and coffee or tea. The cost is $5 per person. For carryout call 330-545-6619.

St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., Youngstown, has scheduled the final Sauce and Song event of the season. The event will resume in October. A spaghetti dinner will be served in the social hall from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The meal includes salad, bread, dessert and a beverage. The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children age 10 and under. Carryouts are available, and containers will be provided. A concert from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. will feature Rodd Coonce and the Music at Madison Players. The concert is free and open to the community. Southington American Legion Post will sponsor an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the post home, 3145 Warren-Burton Road, Southington. The meal costs $6.50 for adults, $4 for children under 12 and free for kids under 4. Pancakes and sausage or biscuits and gravy will be available.

VFW Triangle Post 2799, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will serve a home-style breakfast sponsored by the Ladies Auxiliary from 8 a.m. to noon. Breakfast consists of eggs, hash browns, sausage or ham, pancakes or freedom toast, toast and coffee or tea. Prices are $6 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12.

TUESDAY

Coalburg United Methodist Church, 1906 Wick-Campbell Road, Hubbard, will host a swiss steak dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. The menu includes mashed potatoes, vegetable, coleslaw, bread and beverage. The cost is $9 for adults and $5 for children. Dine in or carryout. Visit the bake sale for a variety of desserts.

UPCOMING

Holy Family Parish, 2729 Center Road (Route 224), Poland, will serve cavatelli dinners from 3 to 6:30 p.m. or until sold out May 6. Dinners feature homemade sauce, two meatballs, tossed salad, bread and butter and two cookies for $9. A smaller portion of cavatelli and one meatball is $5. Fresh homemade pasta fagioli sells for $6 per quart, and fresh or frozen homemade pasta sauce, for $5 a quart. Takeout orders only. Place your order, remain in your car and your dinner will be delivered to you. This will be the last takeout dinner until September.

St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 4453 Warren-Sharon Road, Vienna, will host a haluski dinner with kolbasi, applesauce and dessert from 4 to 6:30 p.m. May 9. It is a drive in, drive out, takeout dinner only. Prices are $8 for adults and $5 for children under 12. From noon to 6:30, quarts of haluski will sell for $5 each.
