Appalachian Regional Commission tours America Makes and YBI

YOUNGSTOWN

Officials from the Appalachian Regional Commission were given a tour of America Makes and the Youngstown Business Incubator this morning.

The economic development agency has supplied funding for projects in the Youngstown area to spur economic growth. In 2014, ARC dollars went to nine local projects that costs more than $6 million, which created nearly 200 jobs.

“They’re an important funding source,” Barb Ewing, chief operating officer of YBI, said.
