Boardman schools, Farmers National agree to finish stadium project

BOARDMAN

The Boardman Board of Education voted to sign a nine-year lease agreement for $1.6 million with Farmers National Bank.

The money will be used to finish the scoreboard, press box and home and visitor stands for the stadium project.

"With this lease, we will be able to have the new stadium operational for the fall sports season with construction for Phase

2 beginning in mid-May," said director of operations Tim Saxton.

The Boardman Booster Club has raised $1.2 million from pledges and donations for the project thus far, and will continue to raise funds for the project.

The Boardman Booster Club on Monday presented the board with a check for $250,000 for the first lease payment.

"We are excited about the new facility and know that it will improve accessibility for our students, and will be another shining symbol of

excellence in this great district," said board of education member John Landers.
