Trailer fire near Salt Springs Road slows Interstate 80 traffic

WEATHERSFIELD

Eastbound Interstate 80 near Salt Springs Road was closed temporarily Friday afternoon as a result of a 3 p.m. fire involving a camper.

One of the two lanes has since reopened, and there were no injuries, the Ohio State Highway Patrol reports.

The camper was badly damaged, and the American Red Cross came to the scene to provide assistance to the driver and any passengers, police said.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol and police and fire personnel from Weathersfield Township responded to the accident.
