POLICE CALLS

A summary of police activity in the city of Canfield and Austintown:

CANFIELD

April 12

Identity theft: A fraudulent tax return was filed on a homeowner on Sleepy Hollow Drive. The matter has been turned over to the Internal Revenue Service.

April 14

Concealed weapon: Allison Sugget, 22, of N. Lincoln Ave., Salem was arrested on charges of carrying a concealed weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia.

April 16

Drug paraphernalia: Thomas David, 55, of Carriage Lane, Canfield was arrested on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

April 17

Drug possession: Jonathan Keys, 18th St., Wellsville, was arrested on charges of drug possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and Valeria Vuletic, 20, of 48560 Dyke Road,Negley, was arrested for drug possession of marijuana.

April 20

Drug paraphernalia: Brandon Culp, 22, of W. 7th St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

AUSTINTOWN

April 13

Domestic violence: Michael Gasaway, 35, of Hillbrook Apartments, S. Raccoon Road, was arrested on a domestic violence charge.

Theft: Unauthorized charges were made to an account at a home in the 4000 block of Washington Square.

Breaking and entering: An attempt to break into Valley Health Care Systems of Ohio resulted in damage to a door.

Impersonating a police officer: A 17-year-old suspect was impersonating a police officer on a Twitter account.

Animal complaint: Two dogs attacked another dog at Austintown Township Park, 6000 Kirk Road.

ID theft: A fraudulent tax refund was filed at a home in the 4000 block of New Road.

Identity fraud: A tax return was filed fraudulently at a home in the 1000 block of Raspberry Lane.

April 14

Resisting arrest: Mark Wilson, 36, of Vassar Ave. was issued a summons on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

Weapons offense: Omar Rasheed Croum, 22, of N. Blaine Ave., Youngstown, was issued a summons on a charge of improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle.

Receiving stolen property: Darlene Haffner, 36, of Indian Run, Canfield and Megan Spare, 25, of Eleanor Ave., Youngstown were both charged with receiving stolen property, and possession of drug paraphernalia and drug abuse instruments. The pair is accused of having 16 Nintendo Wii games, valued at under $1,000.

Theft: A front license plate was stolen from a vehicle at a home in the 600 block of S. Raccoon Road.

Theft: A wallet was taken and a debit card used at Panera Bread, 5503 Mahoning Ave.

Lost or stolen: Lost or stolen training items were reported at the police station.

Theft: Georgetta Torek, 49, of Birchcrest Ave., was arrested on a charge of domestic violence.

Theft: Stefani Kelly, 40, of S. Main St. was arrested on a charge of theft at Walmart, 6001 Mahoning Ave. for an attempt at stealing $74.37 worth of merchandise.

Menacing: Threats were reported at a home in the 5000 block of Rad-cliffe Ave.

April 15

Identity theft: IRS fraud was reported at a home in the 4000 block of E. Radio Road.

Fraud: Unauthorized charges were made to an account at Home Savings and Loan, 2230 S. Raccoon Road.

Identity theft: A fraudulent tax return was reported at a home in the 4000 block of Lanterman Road.

Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle: A 2000 Chevrolet Tracker was used without consent at a home in the 200 block of S.Main St.

Identity theft: Unauthorized charges were made on a Home Savings and Loan account at a home in the 4000 block of Deopham Green.

April 16

Fraud: Unauthorized charges on an account were reported at a home in the 5000 block of Norquest Blvd.

Burglary: Forced entry was found at a home in the 400 block of Inglewood Road, but nothing was taken.

Telecommunications harassment: There is a suspect in telephone harassment at Advance America, 4429 Mahoning Ave.

Theft: Gold coins were stolen at a home in the 200 block of Wilcox Road.

Domestic violence: Brandon Casanova, 25, of Dunlap Ave., Youngstown was arrested on charges of domestic violence and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Identity theft: An IRS tax return was the source of identity theft at a home in the 5000 block of E. Radio Road.

April 17

Theft: Damage to a vending machine and attempted theft was reported at the Hampton Inn, 880 N. Canfield-Niles Road.

Theft: A male suspect stole steaks at Giant Eagle, 5220 Mahoning Ave.

Identity theft: Possible identity theft was reported at a home in the 100 block of Westchester Drive.

Warrant: Tulpe George, 34, of Oakwood Drive, Brookfield was arrested on a warrant for telecommunications harassment.

Criminal damaging: Lawn damage was reported at a home in the 3000 block of Edinburgh Drive.

Theft: A cable was cut, and a rototiller taken at Tractor Supply Co., 6225 Mahoning Ave.

April 18

Domestic violence: Zachary Brown, 29, of Cannon Road, Austintown was arrested on a charge of domestic violence.

Theft: Lori Miller, 43, of Rita St., Campbell, was issued a summons for theft of two bags of M&M’s at Walmart.

Drug offense: Jason Poyssick, 37,of Forest Hill Drive, was arrested on a drug offense for purported possession of 58 Tramadol 50 mg and an outstanding warrant from Youngstown.

Breaking and entering: Three buildings were spray-painted and a wood burner stolen at a home in the 3000 block of Oakwood Ave.

Theft: Two firearms were taken from a house in the 7000 block of Blackwater Cove.

Warrant: Christopher Guy, 34, of Market St., Youngstown was arrested on a warrant on a charge of receiving stolen property.

April 19

Drug offense: Soloman Clay, 23, of Hillman St., Youngstown was issued a summons on a charge of possession of two bags of marijuana at Pandora nightclub, 169 S. Four Mile Run Road.

Drug offense: Devon Frye, 21, of Joan Ave., Girard, and Courtney Wagko, 29, of Forsythe Ave., Girard were issued summonses on charges of possession of marijuana.

Criminal damaging: A headlight and taillight were broken and the sticker scratched at a home in the 4000 block of Burkey Road.

Domestic violence: Antoine Black, 31, of Compass West Drive, Youngstown was arrested on charges of domestic violence and violation of a protection order.

Criminal damaging: Vehicle damage was reported at a home in the 3000 block of Robert Frost Drive.

Domestic violence: Anthony Winterburn, 38, of Parkgate Ave.,Youngstown was arrested on charges of domestic violence and possession of cocaine.
