Foundation provides money for neighborhood cleanups

WARREN — Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership is starting the Building a Better Warren program thanks to a $1,500 donation from the Trumbull County Foundation’s O’Brien Children Memorial Fund, a part of the Community Foundation of Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio.

Building a Better Warren will offer residents and neighborhood associations interested in taking on a neighborhood cleanup, beautification or other improvement project a chance to apply for $250 toward the project.

The application process is simple and involves an individual or group committing to a cleanup event or beautification project, proposing a date, time, and work plan, and proposing a budget.

TNP already provides free garbage bags and gloves to residents and groups executing cleanups of public areas, plywood for board-ups and a tool loan program.

Among the items that can be purchased through the program are flowers, plant materials, paint, playground equipment or repairs or fencing.
