Botanical Mornings

Daffodil weekend
When: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m.
What: See over 200 species and cultivars on display; take a stroll through Daffodil Meadow; participate in the Daffodil Show.

First Detector Training
When: Monday, 12:30-3:30 p.m.
What: First detectors are part of the National Plant Diagnostic Network and the Ohio Plant Diagnostic Network. Training promotes awareness and detection of new or emerging plant pest threats to Ohio’s rural, urban, agricultural and natural systems.

Audubon Society/ Mahoning Valley

Woodland Wildflowers
When: Next Thursday, 7 p.m.
What: Guest speaker, William Cullina, executive director of Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, will have a presentation on woodland wildflowers. Captivating, mysterious, loved and misunderstood, there are no plants more beautiful than lady-slippers, oconee bells, trilliums, bloodroot and hepatica, yet these slow-growing plants are far too rare in gardens.
