Police discover copper pipe removed from Campbell home

CAMPBELL — Police responded to a home on Sanderson Avenue to investigate a break-in Tuesday evening.

When they arrived, they found the home was emitting a strong odor of natural gas. The fire department was summoned and cleared the gas from the home and a valve was turned off.

Police then discovered an unknown amount of copper pipe and black gas pipe had been removed from the home.

The family informed police they were last at the residence on Sunday, and found the rear door open when they returned Tuesday.
