Man shot in head on South Side dies

A man who was critically wounded after being shot in the head on the South Side Friday evening has died.

A news release from the Mahoning County Coroner’s office said an autopsy was conducted Tuesday on Amos Dothard, 18, of Plazaview Court, which found that Dothard died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Chief of Detectives Capt. Brad Blackburn said coroner’s officials had told him that Dothard was being kept alive by artificial means over the weekend.
