Youngstown police make drug arrest after traffic stop

YOUNGSTOWN — Police found 160 pills, a bag each of heroin and crack cocaine and just over $400 cash during a traffic stop about 7:20 p.m. Saturday on the South Side.

Officers pulled over a car driven by Lewer Dent, 26, of Cook Avenue in Boardman, because he did not have a valid driver's license.

Reports said Dent was placed in the back of a cruiser while a citation was being written and he kicked a divider as he was fidgeting in the back seat.

When he was taken out to be handcuffed, police found a large plastic inside the cruiser, where the cash and drugs were found.

Dent was taken to the Mahoning County jail on charges of possession of drugs/heroin, possession of drugs /crack cocaine, possession of drugs and a warrant for criminal trespass.
