Staff report

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown police are on the scene of an apparent homicide this afternoon on the city's South Side.

Shortly before 4 p.m. today, police and authorities were removing the body of the victim from a property on East Princeton Avenue, just behind the McDonald's restaurant on Market Street near the Uptown District.

Additional details on the death were not immediately available.

On Friday, Xavier L. Vega, 28, was found shot and killed in front of a house in the 300 block of South Jackson Street. In addition, Amos Dothard Jr., 18, was critically injured in a drive-by shooting on the South Side on Friday night.

If ruled a homicide, today's death would be the city's fourth homicide of 2015. Youngstown had recorded two homicides as of this date in 2014.
