Sunrise of Poland, an assisted living center, sponsored Senior Fun Day at Boardman Park on March 19. This event called out to seniors of the community to leave their homes and socialize with one another. Included in the three hours of Senior Fun Day was food, crafts, games, prizes and so much more.

Jacqueline Price, one of the participants in this day of fun, said she comes to Senior Fun Day quite often.

“I enjoy coming out and meeting with all the ladies,” Price said.

Price is in the St. Luke’s choir, much like a family to her, and events that bring many of her peers together remind her of that sense of family.

Jacki Jones and Karen Mccallum who helped put on this event both agreed that they get a large turnout for events like these.

“We are able to have 150-200 seniors come out every month,” Mccallum said.

Also available to those who come to Senior Fun Day is light exercise, blood pressure screenings and even a guest speaker.

Multiple guests for Senior Fun Day explained their appreciation for Mccallum’s extra effort put into days like today, for without it the days wouldn’t be half as wonderful as they are.
