Lady Spartan Track sweeps meet

The Boardman Lady Spartans continued the season with a 117-15 victory over the Ursuline Lady Irish.

The scoring began with the 4x800 relay composed of Abbey Evans, Emily Evans, Brittany Chamberlain and Idalia Vega; earning a first place finish. The trio of Hope Landers, Stephanie DeMain and Jessica Knickerbocker swept the 100 hurdles. In the 100, Arianna Cuevas earned a second place finish. Casey Zaitzew, Jordan Grantonic and Chamberlain then swept the mile.

The 4x100 relay of Jessica Mowery, Landers, Makayla D’Eramo and Regan O’Hara earned a first place finish. In the 400, Alison Greene and O’Hara earned first and second place finishes, respectively. In the 300 hurdles, Landers and Logan Mitchell took home first and second place finishes, respectively.

The trio of Cassie Stitt, O’Hara and Vega swept the 800. Cueveas and Greene then took home first and second places finishes, respectively, in the 200. The 3200 was swept by the trio of Grantonic and the Evans sisters.

The track scoring was completed with the first place finish of the 4x400 relay of Mowery, Stitt, Zaitzew and Greene. In the field events, KaNisha White won the shot put and discus events. Also scoring in the shot was Faith Twyman and Amber Harrison. In the discus, Twyman took home a second place finish.

The Spartan pole vaulters, consisting of Brooke Harsh, Paige Clendenin and Catie Groubert swept the event. In the high jump; Mitchell, Knickerbocker and Groubert took home the top three places. To complete the scoring, Mitchell and Cassie Harsh finished second and third, respectively, in the long jump.
