Kevin Sferra promoted to Campbell police lieutenant

CAMPBELL

Detective Sgt. Kevin Sferra of Campbell police was promoted to lieutenant.

Sferra, who served 14 years in the police department, started his new position Monday. He replaces John Rusnak, who in mid-March voluntarily demoted himself to patrolman and was placed on suspension for mishandling a 2012 investigation at Campbell Memorial High School, and for other misconduct.

“Kevin Sferra is one of the finest officers in the area,” said Campbell police Chief Drew Rauzan. “I look forward to a long future working side by side with Kevin, as we guide this department into the future.”
