FOOD SALES AND DINNERS

TODAY

Boar’s Head Group of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will serve a chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. The meal consists of chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, salad, bread and butter, pie and a beverage. A lemon-butter baked fish with macaroni and cheese option has been added to the menu for Lent. The cost is $7.50. No reservations are necessary. Canfield Christian Church, 123 S. Broad St., Canfield, will host a Lenten breakfast. The free meal is set for 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. each Wednesday during Lent. Donations will be accepted.

Holy Family Parish, 2729 Center Road, Poland, is selling cavatelli dinners from 3 to 6:30 p.m. Meals include homemade sauce, two meatballs, tossed salad, bread and two cookies for $9. A smaller portion of cavatelli and one meatball is $5. The church also will sell homemade pasta fagioli for $6 a quart and pasta sauce for $5 a quart. All sales are takeout only. Place an order and remain in the car for someone to deliver the dinners.

THURSDAY

Poland United Methodist Church, 1940 Boardman-Poland Road, will serve homemade dinners to go. Starting at 3:30 until the drive-through runs out, baked stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and green beans will sell for $6.

Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road, Canfield, will host a drive-through chicken dinner from 4 p.m. until sold out for $8 each. A stuffed chicken breast comes with mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans and a brownie.

FRIDAY

American Legion Post 737, 16465 Milton Ave., Lake Milton, will serve fish dinners from 3 to 7 p.m. or until sold out. Meals are priced at $9.50. Chicken and shrimp dinners are available for $8.50, and fish sandwiches are $6.50. All meals include french fries, coleslaw, a roll and a beverage.

Argus Lodge 545, 5050 Shields Road, Canfield, will be serving a Lenten fish dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Fellowship Hall in the lodge. Meals include french fries, coleslaw, dinner rolls, coffee or soft drink and dessert. Tickets at the door are $12 for adults and $5 for kids 9 and under. Carryout is available by calling 330-533-3077. Proceeds will benefit the Argus Lodge charities.

Canfield Lions Club will have a fish fry from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield. Meals include a choice of baked or fried fish; french fries, macaroni and cheese, pirogi or haluski; and coleslaw, green beans, roll, dessert and beverage. The cost is $11.

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Dessert will be an additional $1.50. Containers will be provided for takeouts. Orders will be accepted from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 330-792-1005.

Howland Community Church, 198 Niles-Cortland Road SE, will sponsor an all-you-can-eat fish fry from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The meal consists of baked or fried fish, baked potato and macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, applesauce, dessert and coffee, tea, punch or water. Prices are $10 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under.

Negley Masonic Lodge, 50873 Richardson Ave., (state Route 154) in Negley, will serve fish and chips dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals consist of a large piece of fish, fresh cut fries, coleslaw and dessert. Prices are $7 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. Extra pieces of fish are $2 each. Takeout orders will be available.

St. Michael Orthodox Church, 125 Steel St., Youngstown, will sell pasta fagioli and haluski with cabbage for $5.50 per quart from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sit-down or takeout options are available. Phone orders on Thursday to 330-799-2060. Walk-ins also are welcome.

TAKING ORDERS

Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, is taking orders for apple or cherry strudel. The cost is $10 each. Call 330-550-6628 to order. Pickup is from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Friday.

Queen of the Holy Rosary Church, 291 Scoville Drive, Vienna, will serve takeout dinners of creamed chicken on a biscuit from 3:30 to 6 p.m. April 18. Order between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. by April 13 to 330-856-4204. Prices are $8 for adults and $4 for children 10 and under. Meals come with mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw and dessert.

UPCOMING

Fellowship Tabernacle Christian Center COGIC, 2139 Market St., Youngstown, will host Soul Food Sunday at 2 p.m. April 12 in the church fellowship hall after the service. Dinner with two meats, sides and dessert will cost $10, and dinner with three meats will be $12. Beverages are extra.

Sharon First United Methodist Church, 237 W. Silver St., Sharon, Pa., will serve takeout-only ham loaf dinners from 4 to 6 p.m. April 25. The price is $8. For tickets call 724-983-0200.
