WARREN

Carlos Davis III, 18, of Logan Avenue SE is in the Trumbull County jail, likely to be arraigned today on a felonious assault charge after he and a 27-year-old man exchanged gunfire on Logan Avenue Monday night.

Police said the victim, of Logan Ave NE, was at a store at the corner of Logan Avenue and East Market Street with another man when a male on a mini bike drove up on to the sidewalk next to the store entrance, and words were exchanged between the victim and the man on the mini bike.

The man on the mini bike left for a short time, then returned with two other men riding a 4-wheeler and began shooting a gun at the victim’s truck as he left the store parking lot. One bullet apparently narrowly missed hitting the victim.

The victim drove a short distance on Logan, parked his truck and got out. Davis approached him with a gun, so the victim advised Davis he had a gun also.

Davis started shooting again, so the victim, who has a concealed carry license, fired back between three and five times.

The victim suffered cuts to his face, but apparently neither man was hit by the gunfire.

The victim and another witness identified Davis as the shooter, police said.
