YSU holds end of life conference

A conference titled “A Journey through the End of Life: A Family’s Perspective” will be presented 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at Youngstown State University.
Sponsored by YSU’s Gerontology Programs and Crossroads Hospice Charitable Foundation, the conference in YSU’s Williamson Hall is designed for social workers, counselors, nurses, nursing-home administrators, clergy and other professionals interested in learning more about end-of-life issues.
Four continuing-education units are available.
The cost is $35. Student fee is $10.
Daniel J. Van Dussen, professor of gerontology at YSU, will give the keynote address titled “The Appropriateness of Hospice Care.”
Other topics include “Using the Care Team as a GPS,” “The Road Ahead: Every Journey is Different” and “The Ultimate Destination: What to Say When You Don’t Know What to Say?”
