OSHP investigating shooting incident on state Route 11 in Trumbull Co.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating what is being called a "shooting incident" on state Route 11 in Trumbull County.

Initials said authorities were chasing a car reported stolen and had to use stop sticks to get the vehicle to stop. The driver reportedly began firing at authorities, and they returned fire, striking the suspect.

Trumbull County deputies are also on the scene. Motorists are advised to avoid Route 11 southbound, which is closed until further notice as authorities gather evidence. Route 11 northbound lanes are open.
