Man dies in Ohio traffic crash after paint spilled

HUNTINGTON TOWNSHIP, Ohio (AP) — Authorities say a 58-year-old man was killed when he lost control of his pickup truck after a bucket of paint spilled on the highway.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol says it happened Thursday in Huntington Township in Brown County, southeast of Cincinnati.

Troopers said the paint coated the road after the 5-gallon bucket fell from the back of a pickup truck driven by 55-year-old Michael Fryman of Maysville, Ky., as he negotiated a curve.

That’s when another pickup truck driven by Terry Young of West Union, drove over the spilled paint.

The patrol said Young’s truck slid left of center into the northbound lane and was hit by a tractor-trailer. Both of those vehicles then went off the road into an embankment. Young died at the scene.
