Canfield cross country competes at GlenOak
The Canfield High School boys and girls cross country teams opened their season at the Glenoak Golden Eagle Invitational. The 3.1 mile race showcased some of the top runners from across the state.
In the boys division, 22 teams with 173 participants competed for the title. Setting the bar high for Canfield and proving to be one of the top runners in the State was Chase Kern who finished third overall with a time of 16:35. The race was won by Kyle Mau from Hudson and Noah Chaplik from Louisville was runner up. Kern displayed his skills in front of thousands of cheering bystanders along the course, and proved the summer months of hard work and dedication were worth the rewards. Rounding out the top seven for Canfield boys were Mack Mettille (23rd 17:31), Rajan Solanki (49th 18:06), Bryan Kristan (90th 19:08), Matthew Coalmer (107th 19:50), Tyler Tareshawty (125th 20:25) and Dominic Haniford (130th 20:58).
In the girls’ division, 17 teams with 138 runners participated. The Canfield girls’ team was led by Jenny McClune (69th 23:30), followed by Victoria Pacheco (85th 24:31), Amy Goddard (91st 25:01), Aryana Osborne (92nd 25:14), Isabelle Moyer (95th 25:20), Natalie Schoenfeld (98th 25:32) and Rosie Bresson (103rd 26:11).
