Mahoning County boards prepared to merge

YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning County Mental Health Board is expected today to pass a resolution asking the county commissioners for permission to move forward with consolidation talks with the county Alcohol & Drug Addiction Services Board.

The ADAS board approved a similar resolution Sept. 18, believing that consolidation of the two boards would be in the best interests of county residents who need mental health and addiction-treatment services, said Brenda Heidinger, ADAS board spokeswoman.
