Hubbard police: Beware of strangers knocking at your door

HUBBARD — Police said residents should be careful about letting strangers in their homes or on their property.

Police reported a woman on Belle Vista Drive let a man into her house Tuesday evening, thinking at first he was her grandson. He was not. He asked her for gas money. She told him she didn’t have any money and he left in a car. He is 30 to 40 years old, white, thin, and about 5 feet 11 inches tall.

Police said that later Tuesday evening, a woman in the 400 block of Main Street answered her door to a man who said he wanted permission to search for his lost dog. She said he could, but he got in a car and drove away. He was white, short and blond.

Police said on their Facebook page that criminals could be just trying to see who’s at home, and people should report suspicious activity to them.
