Campbell police arrest 2 on drug charges

CAMPBELL — City police arrested two people on drug charges Wednesday.

At 12:30 p.m., police stopped 30-year-old Jeffrey S. Seybert of Jump Street in Lowellville for swerving left of center. According to a police report, Seybert appeared to be texting while driving. During the traffic stop, Seybert was visibly nervous. A search of the car produced 78 pills. Seybert was arrested on felony drug possession and drug trafficking charges. He also was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. He is set to appear in Campbell Municipal Court at 9 a.m. Oct. 10.

Shortly before 7 p.m., police stopped a car driving without headlights. During the traffic stop, a strong odor of marijuana was evident. Police discovered that the driver, identified as Christopher A. Brooks, 29, of Oak Street in Youngstown, had a suspended license. Brooks also admitted to having the remains of five marijuana cigarettes in the car’s ashtray, and a plastic bag containing 2.2 grams of suspected marijuana was also found on him. Police also seized $738.51.

Brooks is charged with possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. He is set to appear in Campbell Municipal Court at 9 a.m. Friday.
