Woman cited for drug paraphernalia at West Side home

YOUNGSTOWN — A woman who police said overdosed on heroin inside a West Side home early Tuesday afternoon was cited for having drug paraphernalia after a needle was found next to her as she was being revived by paramedics.

Reports said police were called to the home about 1:30 p.m. and when an officer got there he found 52-year-old Julie Sittig of Detwiler Road in Canfield being treated by paramedics for a heroin overdose in the bathroom.

The home’s owner said Sittig came over and asked to use his bathroom. When he walked in the bathroom several minutes later, he found her passed out.

A needle was next to her and she was given a citation, reports said. She denied taking heroin but in the ambulance she told paramedics the homeowner injected her with the heroin, reports said. The homeowner denied that, reports said.
