Warren man facing charges in Monday night assault

WARREN — Police plan to charge an 18-year-old Scott Street Northeast man today with felonious assault for a Monday night incident on Fairfield Street Northeast in which witnesses said the man tried to hit them with a car.

Police determined that a fight started about 7:50 p.m. between two women regarding women videotaping another woman on their cellphones on Fairfield. The fight escalated with other people becoming involved.

One of the other people was the 18-year-old man, who is a friend of one of the women.

After the fight was seemingly over, the man wrecklessly pulled his car out of the driveway at the Fairfield home and is alleged to have tried to run into five women, police said. None of the women was hit, and the car stopped against a curb.

Police arrested the man and took him to the Trumbull County jail.

One female was taken to ValleyCare Trumbull Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained in the fight.
