Jameson Health to offer ‘My Bike’ program

NEW CASTLE, PA.

Midwestern Intermediate Unit IV (MIU IV), Jameson Health System, and Variety Children’s Charity are offering a family event to raise awareness and identify children with disabilities who are eligible to receive an adaptive bicycle from the “My Bike” program.

Families of children with disabilities, their teachers, therapists and other support personnel are invited to attend the free event at Jameson Rehabilitation Center, 3410 Wilmington Road, New Castle, Pa., at 5 p.m. Sept. 30.

At the event, children will partake in a fall-themed craft, enjoy a light snack, and participate in a short program that will explain how children with disabilities can become eligible to obtain an adaptive bicycle through the “My Bike” program. In addition, attendees will meet children who have received adaptive bikes and gain appreciation for the value it has granted their lives.

Physical therapists, occupational therapists, teachers and support personnel who work with children with disabilities are invited to the event to learn how it can benefit those whom they serve.

Those interested in attending the event should contact Nicole Hunter at 724-656-4145. Information on Variety’s “My Bike” program can be found at www.varietypittsburgh.org.
