The 7th Ward Citizens Coalition will have a candidates and issues forum at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the D.D. and Velma Davis Center at Mill Creek MetroPark’s Fellows Riverside Gardens, 123 McKinley Ave.
The event will include presentations on three Youngstown charter-amendment proposals — ward redistricting, the anti-fracking Community Bills of Rights, and merging the community-development and economic development departments — and the Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County levy that are on the Nov. 4 ballot.
Also, candidates running for Mahoning County Probate Court judge and county auditor as well as for a seat on the 7th District Court of Appeals are scheduled to attend. Anita Rios, Green Party gubernatorial candidate, also will be at the forum.
Taft Block Watch meeting planned
YOUNGSTOWN
The Taft School Area Block Watch monthly meeting will take place from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Compass Family & Community Service, 535 Marmion Ave. Special guests will include Mayor John A. McNally, police Chief Robin Lees and Councilman John R. Swierz, D-7th.
Woman arrested

Police arrested a 20-year-old Boardman woman after they said she tried to intervene in a fight that security guards were trying to break up Saturday evening at the Covelli Centre downtown.
Reports said off-duty officers working security were called to a parking lot, where two guards said they were trying to break up a fight between two men when Laura Villey of Boardman began kicking one of the guards in the back of the leg.
Reports said Villey was drunk and had been kicked out of the event inside earlier because of her behavior. She was charged with disorderly conduct and assault.

A township resident on Glenwood Avenue reported to police about $4,100 of electronics had been stolen from her home about 8:30 a.m. Friday. She reported a laptop, 30 Xbox games, a black Xbox unit, two game controllers, a game headset and a 24-inch LCD TV had been taken. The resident said her doors had been locked.

The Audubon Society of the Mahoning Valley invites the public to hear Jim McCormac of Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ Division of Wildlife speak about birding Ohio’s north coast and the new Lake Erie Birding Trail at 7 p.m. today at the Mill Creek MetroParks Farm on state Route 46.
