Beatrice E. Colbert, 53, of Youngstown, was arrested on charges of drug paraphernalia and possession of drugs, marijuana, after a traffic stop at 10 p.m. Saturday at Hillman and Garfield streets.

Police say they saw Colbert run a stop sign at Delason Avenue and turn north onto Hillman. She did not have a driver’s license with her. Her nervous behavior prompted a call to the canine unit to initiate a search. Police found a small plastic bag of marijuana and two glass crack pipes.

Police issued a summons. She is scheduled to appear Tuesday in Youngstown Municipal Court.

E. Liverpool shooting

EAST LIVERPOOL

Five people were injured during an incident about 5 a.m. Sunday on First Avenue on the city’s east end.

Police said four people were shot but did not have life-threatening injuries. Another was assaulted. According to The Vindicator’s broadcast partner, 21 WFMJ-TV, authorities reported that all the victims were stable Sunday night.

One victim was flown while another went by ambulance to a Pittsburgh hospital for treatment. Police say a third victim was transported to a nearby hospital. The fourth person refused treatment for minor injuries.

A fight, which started earlier in the morning at a nearby nightclub, may have been the cause of the shooting, police say.
