Tutoring will be offered at Robinwood

Staff report

BOARDMAN

Making Kids Count will host an After School Tutoring Program at Robinwood Lane Elementary School in Boardman during the 2014-15 school year, and volunteers are needed to assist in enriching a child’s reading comprehension, fluency and overall academic success and confidence.

The programs will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from October through May. Volunteers will work one-on-one with a third-grade student from Robinwood, providing an opportunity for the tutor and student to form a learning relationship. More Making Kids Count volunteer tutors will allow for more students at Robinwood to benefit from the personal attention.

Making Kids Count also have solicited volunteers from Youngstown State University teaching students.

All prospective volunteers will have required background checks and documentation to work with students.
