Shuttered store on the East Side destroyed by fire

YOUNGSTOWN — A vacant 1122 Rigby St. store on the East Side was destroyed in a fire that broke out at about 4:15 a.m. Monday.

Reports said when crews arrived there was a blaze in the rear of the building going through the roof. Heavy winds spread the flames to the side of the building.

The building was destroyed.

Demolition crews were on the scene later Monday morning tearing the building's remains down because a brick wall is unstable, reports said.

Damage is listed at $11,000.
